Samsung Galaxy S4 Video Allegedly Shows All

An alleged Samsung Galaxy S4 video leaked online providing a better look at the purported Samsung Galaxy S4 variant days ahead of the official Samsung Galaxy S4 launch in New York City.

The three-minute video shows what the user claims is the Samsung Galaxy S4, GT-i9502, a Chinese version of the Samsung Galaxy S4. This is the same device we saw yesterday, though the video provides a cleaner look at the alleged Samsung Galaxy S4 photos.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Video (Alleged)

The video shows a Samsung branded smartphone that looks very similar to the official Samsung released Galaxy S4 image, though we can only compare corners. Both devices feature Samsung Galaxy S3 style corners and a screen that goes nearly to the edge of the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Features

If the Samsung Galaxy S4 in the video is real, we do learn about several Samsung Galaxy S4 features. The alleged Samsung Galaxy S4 in this video appears to confirm a Micro SD card slot and a removable battery. These features are expected, but this is the first time we’ve seen them on a device that may be the Galaxy S4.

The battery is rated at 2600mAh, which matches up with earlier rumors and could deliver better battery life thanks to the new rumored green PHOLED display. We see a large screen on the Samsung Galaxy S4, but no measurements to show if it is the rumored 4.99-inch 1080P full HD display.

The user also shows off Burst mode with the camera, though we don’t see any details about whether this is the 13MP camera rumored for the Galaxy S4.
A quick tour of the settings menu reveals Android 4.2.1, though not much else is discernible thanks to the Chinese characters in use.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Design

As we mentioned, the device in this video bears a striking resemblance to the official Samsung Galaxy S4 teaser image post to Twitter last night. The device appears to combine design language from the Samsung Galaxy Note, the blockier edges, and the Samsung Galaxy S3, the curvier corners.

The video provides a better look at the finish of the device, which does not appear to feature the same dots we saw on the leaked photos from yesterday. The device in the alleged Samsung Galaxy S4 video shows a textured finish similar to other Samsung devices. The front of the alleged Samsung Galaxy S4 features a similar texture to other Samsung devices, and possibly similar to the teaser image.
The alleged Samsung Galaxy S4 appears much thicker than other devices. While there are no measurements or size comparisons to phones, the device appears thicker than the rumored 7.9mm thickness of the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Samsung is known for going to extreme measures to keep the Galaxy devices a secret, so it is possible this is a device with Galaxy S4 innards, but a fake exterior to throw off leakers and eager fans.
Samsung is planning a Galaxy S4 launch event at Radio City Music Hall in New York City at 7 PM eastern on Thursday. We expect Samsung will announce the Samsung Galaxy S4 with a quad-core processor, a 13MP camera and a 4.99-inch or 5-inch 1080P HD display. The device is rumored to run Android 4.2.1 with a custom TouchWiz skin and Nature UX interface with features such as Smart scroll that allows users to scroll with their eyes and head gestures.
