Iron Man Mark VII iPhone 5 case pictures & hands-on new

Why should Tony Stark have all the fun? He whizzes about in his high-tech armour, saving the world and everything, but why shouldn't you have a slice of the action?
Well, gadget specialist Brando offers one way you can at least dress something you own in Iron Man armour – as long as you own an iPhone 5, that is.
The Iron Man VII iPhone 5 case is modelled on Stark's armour from the second movie. It's chunky. Very. And has a couple of interesting features, bar being protective for your device.

Firstly, in the chest plate – which appears on the rear of the case – the circular light will actually glow whenever you use the LED flash, being connected reflectively to that specific area of the phone. It renders it useless as a flash, but looks cool.

The other part of the case that's effectively “interactive” is that you can lift the corner flap, where weapons would be stored on the suit, to reveal the camera lens.

That's essentially it in terms of features, but you don't really need bells and whistles to be noticed when you pull this bad boy out in the pub. It's heee-uge. And, we have to be honest, pretty plasticky.

So for these reasons, the Iron Man case won't be for everybody. Hardcore comic book fans will love it. They'll love waving it about in front of other comic book fans' grinning faces. Others, not so.

The Iron Man Mark VII iPhone 5 case is available from Brando for $49. You will be able to import it to the UK, but remember that you'll need to pay extra in shipping and possible customs fees.

Galaxy Note III Design Still Up in The Air - 2013

Over the weekend, we ran a story about a Galaxy Note III prototype, which has since turned out to be fake, which is hardly surprising really. SamMobile are back with what they claim to be more information on the Galaxy Note III. Apparently, they’ve been passed an update which contains details on the design of the Galaxy Note III. They’re claiming that there are three types of prototype being tested by Samsung right now.

One of them is, of course, very similar to that of the Galaxy S 4, which is the path that they’ve taken with every Galaxy Note smartphone since the original. That would keep the two lines very close together in terms of branding but, with the Galaxy S growing again this year, is that what Samsung wants? Isn’t it about time for the Note line to stand outside of the Galaxy S’s shadow?
The second design is a completely new design that SamMobile were unable to comment about. A new design for the Note III would certainly help to make the device stand out and could give those uncertain of size reason to take a look. Who knows what this new design could be but, having the Note III look different to the Galaxy S IV can’t be a bad thing, surely?
Thirdly, there are rumors of a flexible-display packing Note III, specifically Samsung’s flexible AMOLED display tech that they showed off this year at CES 2013, it seems a little unlikely that it will be ready for mass-production come this fall but, stranger things have happened.
Again, these are just rumors and Samsung could be up to absolutely anything when it comes to the Note III but, we wouldn’t be surprised if they just went with the same sort of design as the Galaxy S 4, as Samsung have finally understood that a unified design language is a good marketing strategy. What do you think? Should the Note III become something different?

Samsung 16GB Galaxy S4 Only Has 8.82GB of Free Space 2013

How many of you are waiting to go and grab your Galaxy S4? Well before you do, you’ll want to read this so you don’t freak out. Or maybe you were expecting this. It appears that the Galaxy S4 has only 8.82GB of free space. The rest of it is used by the system, bloat apps, and other features Samsung has thrown into the device.
Over the weekend, on Google+ I noticed a few people that had already picked up the Galaxy S4 and were a bit ticked off that the device has only 8.82GB (around that amount) free to the user before installing any apps, loading up any music, or photos. Perhaps this is why Samsung kept the microSD card slot?
By comparison, the HTC One lists 7.14GB of your storage being used for the system, Sense 5, and such. But the HTC One also has 32GB and 64GB of space, and no microSD card slot. So as far as that goes, it’s all up to personal preference. Don’t forget you can expand your Galaxy S4′s storage with up to a 64GB microSD card.

So there you have it, the 16GB Galaxy S4 comes with just 8.82GB of storage that you can use, so the 32GB version will probably have around 24-25GB of free storage, by my calculation. Most of the panic here is probably going to come from the fact that you can’t even see the rest of the 16GB of storage. Many people might think that they have a 8GB model instead of the 16GB model.
Is this a deal breaker for anyone? Or are you just going to flash CyanogenMod onto your Galaxy S4? At least there is a microSD card slot included in the Galaxy S4, unlike with many other flagship devices. So at least Samsung has done that for it’s customers. Let us know in the comments down below.

HTC One Mobiles Republic Powers BlinkFeed

You might have heard the name Mobiles Republic a few times before, thanks to their News Republic, Appy Geek and Appy Gamer Android apps. They’re one of the biggest mobile news syndicators with over 1,500 licensed sources – including ourselves! What you might not know however, is that they’re the people behind HTC’s BlinkFeed, which is one of the headlining features of the HTC One (our review is coming real soon!). You might already know what BlinkFeed is and what it does but, we’ll let HTC quickly fill you in
Essentially, it’s the news you care about, right there at your fingertips. It’s a great feature of the One and if you just have to know what’s going on at every waking moment, then you’ll love BlinkFeed. You go ahead and set-up your customized feed in the settings and then you’ll get your own news selection on your homescreen whenever you need it:

You can read the whole article without having to head on over to the source page as well, like this post of ours here:

BlinkFeed might be the RSS reader you think it is but, that’s a good thing, it makes it quick and easy to get the news you care about without having to go into individual apps. There’s a vast amount of sources on offer so you don’t have to keep jumping from app to app. You can lump in the more serious news with your gaming and tech news, to make sure that you get your fix wherever and whenever.
If you don’t have an HTC One, you can still get our stories in the Appy Geek app, which just recently got a sizable update with some tweaks and it takes better advantage of tablets like the Nexus 7.

HTC M4 leaked, suggests flagship style with middleweight specs

Remember the M4? We've seen glances of a spec sheet, but now we get to see how it's going to look. Courtesy of @evleaks, we can now tell it's looking good. After the critically-acclaimed One, the company looks to be sharing its style tips around -- at a glance the M4 appears almost identical to the HTC flagship, although the camera flash has been relocated to the center of the device and there's a few less micro-drilled speaker holes. Running over the leaked specs, you can expect a smaller 4.3-inch screen at 720p resolution and possibly a cheaper build to the unibody beauty that leads HTC's smartphone family.

There's likely to be a dual-core processor, LTE-capable radio and 16GB of storage too. There's better news, with the UltraPixel-packing 4-megapixel camera sensor rumored to make its way into the middleweight phone, although initial leaks pointed to a 13-megapixel sensor. The phone is mooted to appear later this quarter, but we're still waiting on official word (and that all-important price) before we get too excited. But hey, it worked for Samsung.

Update: We've made a couple of comparison images of this rumored M4 with the 4.7-inch One. Check them out after the break.

Iron Man case for the Samsung Galaxy S4

Samsung Galaxy S4 is available in market and already made a good start in sales by United States carriers. Thus the accessory makers are also keen to show their products affiliated with this smartphone. These include different case makers because with Samung light built material composed Galaxy S series the case is the most important accessory to keep it safe in accidents.

With the big hit of the Iron Man 3 this summer and with all the buzz the cover makers decided to introduce an Iron Man Beam Case for the Samsung Galaxy S4. The best part of this case is that beside protection this case features an NFC supported Glowing Eye and Arc Reactor. Which light up whenever you receive a notification on your phone. This feature makes it unique and different from other regular Samsung Galaxy S4 cases we have reviewed before in our blog. The case is available in the market for $39, which seems to be a good price as other default case makers also show up with the same price tag.

The case is available on the shop brando website. While the website does not explain the actual power for this whole light up for the whole operation of this case, we can still assume that it is fed through the same NFC Chip. because the housing is not much thicker than a standard case that we have seen for this smartphone, and of course there are nothing mentioned about any fixed battery inside.

Anyways Iron Man case for the Samsung Galaxy S4 sets some new standards in integration of NFC in the cases made by the 3rd parties for the NFC supported smartphones. Hope to see such a case for Samsung Galaxy S3.

The description and features written on the sales site

Alcatel One Touch Idol X Specifications and Price

The new Alcatel Touch Idol X combines the best of design and performance at one place with the introduction of this new device in their smartphone line.

The design of the Alcatel Touch Idol X is more attractive than these low end mobile phone manufactures could ever made. It is sleek, slim, dashy and classic all in one place with awesome looks of a high-end device that is actually loaded with high end chips and real sharp and crystal clear display like the one in HTC or Samsung phones.

The manufacturers of this phone TCL announced several other phones that will be running on Firefox OS but this Alcatel One Touch Idol X phone that is loaded with Android 4.2 JellyBean has made the device more appropriate to revive the brand.

Alcatel One Touch Idol X has a 5-inch display with a Full HD, 1920×1080 resolution having 441-ppi pixel density which is equal to the latest Samsung Galaxy S4 , a quad-core Cortex A7, MT6589 processor clocked at 1.5GHz is supported with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of memory which can be expanded up to 32GB. A 13-MP rear camera, 4208 x 3120 pixels, autofocus, LED flash capable of shooting Full-HD 1080p videos and a 2.1-Megapixel front camera that support HD video chat. As explained earlier the device will hit the market with latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean already loaded. The Alcatel One Touch Idol X comes up with a 2000mAh Li-On battery, which doesn’t seem to be enough for such a power hungry device.

However the TCL, manufacturers of the Alcatel One Touch Idol X claims that the latest Cortex A7 processor are more energy efficient than the older processors. The price of the One Touch Idol X has not yet been announced, but a price would be between 200 to 250 Euro as reported in the leaked documents.

How to Manage Dropbox, SkyDrive and Google Drive From One Place

The dependence on cloud storage has been increasing in past 2-3 years. More and more apps are made available online including the jump in by the giant companies like Google and Microsoft in this cloud storage platform. Google has introduced Google Drive while Microsoft hop in with SkyDrive app. But among all shareholders Dropbox is the most popular among all with the best Automatic synchronization and capabilities features.

Most of the folks love to use all of these services as most of them provide a certain amount of free space like Dropbox offers 2GB of free space while Google Drive and Microsoft’s SkyDrive offers a free 5GB disk space at their servers for the customers. So if you have account in all of these services you can easily store up to 12GB of data fro free in these online cloud storage services, and the best part is you can access that data any time from anywhere you want.
But the headache comes when you have to access these servers with a separate log in and synchronizing each system separately make it quite difficult to manage desired files and documents. That’s why every one wants to have such a service that integrates all these top cloud storage on one platform.

Compal Apps came up with a solution, with an app named RainbowDrive (not that famous restaurant ) you can manage all your online cloud storage accounts from one place. You can sign in into different cloud sotarge services using the RainbowDrive just once and it will integrate all those platfomrs and after that you won’t have to get worry how to add, edit, save or delete any file because with with RainbowDrive you can browse all accounts or services in one place.

The official discription of the app on the Windows Store tells this all.
  1. - Integrate Dropbox, Google Drive, SkyDrive and Box.
  2. - Support multiple accounts log-in for each cloud storage.
  3. - Upload/Download/Delete files to or from supported clouds.
  4. - Auto-categorize files by photo, music, video, office…file type.
  5. - In-app playback file formats: Images, Videos, Audio, etc.
  6. - Search files across all cloud accounts.
  7. - Share file link via email.
Above all the good thing is that this app is available for all most frequently used platforms including Windows Store, Apple iTunes store and the Google Play Store. Download links are given at the bottom of the post.

Samsung Galaxy Trend II and the Samsung Galaxy Trend II Duos

Samsung has introduced 2 more smartphones today that include a high profile mid-range Samsung Galaxy Win and the and low profile Low-range Samsung Galaxy Trend II which is a dual-SIM phone for china’s market.

Most rumors we have been hearing about the Samsung Galaxy Win were quite accurate. The device runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and has a 4.7-inch WVGA display which rumors suggested as qHD display. More amazingly the device has a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor that can show some powerful benchmark results. For connectivity the device is fully loaded with WiFi, GPS, and Bluetooth 3.0. There is a 5 megapixel rear or main camera supported with flash and a tiny VGA front camera. The good news that we couldn’t find in rumors is the addition of MicroSD card support and a powerful 2,000 mAH battery. It weights around 143.9 grams and measures around 1.33 x 70.7 x 9.65 mm.

It looks like there will be three versions of the Galaxy Win, for all three Chinese carriers: GT-i8552 (pictured below), GT-i869, and GT-i8558.

The other two new Samsung Smartphone that has been unveiled in China is the Samsung Galaxy Trend II and the Samsung Galaxy Trend II Duos. One with a standard single SIM support and the other comes up with Dual SIM support, and that is the only difference between the two handsets. Both have the same WVGA Display, with 1.2GHz Dual-Core processors and both have 3 megapixel rear cameras. Samsung suggests that Android Jelly Bean 4.1 will be installed.

There is no word on how much the Galaxy Win, Galaxy Trend II and Galaxy Trend Duos II will cost. Furthermore, we don’t know if they’re going to be officially released outside China. But the Galaxy Win will probably be available in other markets (at least across Asia), since we first saw it in Vietnam.

HTC First finally Announced for AT&T in U.S.

We have seen some rumors regarding the First Facebook phone and all of them were quite true as HTC finally announced the new HTC First smartphone. This new phone is a fully Facebook integrated phone which has been officially unveiled today. This first Facebook-centered Android device will be exclusively available on AT&T in United States with the official sales will be starting on April 12 for an affordable price tag of $99.99 along with a 2-year contract. You can still have the chance to pre-Order one here.

The HTC First isn’t the first device with the idea of Facebook integration in a HTC smartphone, back in early 2011 Facebook and HTC’s partnership resulted in the making of HTC Chacha and the HTC Salsa. Both phones have a special Facebook integration with a specific Facebook button. But this smartphone namely HTC First came with the New Home Launcher for Facebook, making much more richer Facebook integration than it’s earlier counter parts.

Beside the new Facebook launcher The HTC First runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with a medium sized that is 4.3 inch HD display having a resolution of 1280 x 720p. The device is supported with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM. There is a 5 megapixel rare camera that can shoot HD videos. The phone will support AT&T LTE network.
If we see the specifications of the HTC First device, it surely stands among the Mid-range affordable device. However the most important feature is the integration of newly announced Facebook Home Launcher into its Android Operating System. Which makes it unique from other smartphones. Facebook also mentions that the HTC First will have some deeper integration for system notifications than the other devices having Facebook Home, which is expected to be launched at 12th of April. One more feature that distinguish this phone is the integration of Instagram app alongside Facebook. That surely will be a great news for Instgramers.

There are some images of the first ever Facebook Home launcher phone. The HTC First,

Google Nexus 2013 Concept (Final Version) With Tegra 4 CPU, Sold by Google Wireless Carrier

We offered you a concept of the Galaxy Nexus 2 and a teaser for an upcoming Google Nexus phone. Now Bob Freking delivered the Google Nexus 2013, a really well designed piece of work and a very original idea behind it. This phone is all Google, so much that even its wireless network is offered by Google. The search engine giant is supposed to handle the software, hardware and network in this case. We have a gallery below and you can click on the pictures to see their larger versions.

Bob Freking’s concept involves the announcement of Google Wireless, the company’s own carrier with cheap 4G plans. Also, know that the phones with support for this newfound carrier will lack bloatware and will be thinner, lacking a SIM card, that will actually be built in. Google Nexus 2013 features a 4.8 inch AMOLED display with a 1600 x 900 pixel resolution, a 1.6 GHz Nvidia Tegra 4 quad core processor and a 13.1 megapixel HD camera. The device is suppoed to be sold by Google for $299 unlocked and for $49 locked on Google Wireless.

This “Nexus 2″ runs Android Key Lime Pie, with an updated version of Google Now and G Network, that offers free messaging and calls to other Android 4.2 phones. By the way Key Lime Pie is actually Android 4.2. The phone also integrates the Google Fiber service and as far as design goes, Nexus 2013 has some cool lines at the back, that light up depending on the notification you get. This lighting system is actually the famous logo of the Nexus family. Everything is covered with polycarbonate and Gorilla Glass and other specs include a 2 megapixel front camera and 3000 mAh battery. Beautiful and brilliant work Bob!

Google X Phone Concept Designed by 15 Year Old Boy From the Philippines

It’s amazing what young people can do nowadays! Take for example the design below, the Google X Phone concept created by Rain Tomista, who is only 15 years old and he’s a boy from the Philippines. We’ve been hearing a lot of info about the X Phone and now the specs you see here are based on the designer’s opinions and some leaks.

The Google X Phone is inspired by the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX HD and HTC Droid DNA. It packs a 4.7 inch Full HD display with a very thin bezel. The screen looks very crisp and gives you sharp details and brilliant colors, even in direct sunlight. We’ve also got Gorilla Glass 3 protection on this handset and its case is made of polycarbonate that’s soft to the touch and not cheap feeling.

The material of the case has a matte finish and it’s basically a black slab with Motorola logo on it. The X Phone will feature a quad core Tegra 4i processor clocked at 2.3 GHz, a 16 megapixel camera at the back and a front 5 megapixel shooter with eye scrolling technology. There’s also 8, 16 or 32 GB of internal storage. Finally, this handset will measure 7.0 mm and comes with Android 5.0 or Android 4.3, whichever comes first.

Best Rugged Mobile Phone of 2013

Although smartphones like Apple's iPhone are currently dominating the market, many individuals prefer devices that are more durable and practical. If you are looking for the best rugged mobile phone, there are a few good choices depending on your wireless carrier. Some examples of great cell phones that are on the rugged side are the Casio G'zone Commando, the Samsung SGH-A837 Rugby and the Motorola Tundra VA76r.

When shopping for the best rugged mobile phone on the market, it is absolutely essential to know what to look for. Rugged cell phones are made far differently than the standard smartphones of today as they include a bulkier body that can withstand a lot of wear and tear. They generally are made with a highly durable plastic or hard rubber material and have special designs. They also include the addition of certain substances that make them waterproof and dust-proof. With that being said, the best rugged mobile phone is a great choice for users who are prone to spills and drops. For example, individuals in the armed forces tend to opt for rugged phones.

As previously mentioned, rugged cell phones are made to be highly durable. They are typically made with a bumper sandwich type of structure that makes them look tough. The speakers on the front of the phones are usually on the large side, which makes the speaker phone feature a pleasure to use. The display of a rugged device utilizes tough glass such as Corning Gorilla Glass to protect the LCD screen.

When you choose to go shopping for a rugged phone, be sure to have a few models in mind beforehand that are offered by your wireless carrier. Phones that are rugged are not only water resistant and dust-proof but can also withstand additional elements so that they can be used wherever you are. The rubbery coating on these phones will also help to prevent them from slipping out of your hand, although a rugged cell phone can truly take a punch and will survive with very little or even no damage at all should you drop it.

Typically, a rugged phone will have what is known as the clam shell design. Most are of the flip variety, although there are a few models on the market that are candy bar in style, such as the Casio G'zOne Commando. The phone should also be stress tested, which means they were tested under a number of conditions, prior to hitting the market, that would normally damage other types of mobile phones.
