The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update roll out has begun as Samsung has started pushing the long-awaited upgrade to owners of the aging tablet today, starting in Europe.
In July of last year, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus was graced with an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It was also right around that time that Google released Android 4.1 Jelly Bean into the wild. Now, almost a year later, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is receiving its upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and all of its features.
After toiling on Android 4.0 ICS for almost a year, Samsung has decided to have mercy on Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus owners today as it has begun its roll out of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update. Of course, the update is going to be rolling out in stages. Today, according to SamMobile, the update is hitting users in Austria and in the weeks to come, it will be rolling out to users in other parts of the world.
Samsung is never clear about where and when the updates will be rolling out so Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus owners outside of Austria can only cross their fingers and hope that the update and its new features come soon.
Of course, we still aren’t sure when or if it will be rolling out in the United States. T-Mobile Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus owners are likely to encouraged by the start of the roll out but as we saw with the Android 4.0 upgrade, it could be a matter of months before T-Mobile rolls out its update.
