Angry Birds Web-Only Cartoon Series Coming in March

The Angry Birds will continue their quest to appear on every screen possible next month. Creator Rovio announced the grumpy avians and their pig friends will appear in a web-only cartoon series starting in March.
Angry Birds Toons will turn the series' short animated portions that accompany games into a longer series. Rovio's blog post says the series will "throw the doors of Piggie Island wide open" and show players more about the characters from the series.

The cartoons will be posted every weekend starting on March 16 on the Angry Birds cartoon portal page.
With Rovio exploring bigger merchandising options for Angry Birds, including a CG animated feature film coming out in 2016, a cartoon is a logical step in that direction.

The trailer, posted above, shows all the popular birds, including the iconic Red Bird, as well as their pig nemeses. From the trailer it's unclear if any of the characters are voiced beyond their animal sounds.
Angry Birds' various games have been downloaded more than one billion times across mobile platforms and Facebook.
